Clayton, Harris Doyle, and Arbor Day Foundation to Plant 2.33 Million Trees*
A national home builder, Clayton, and the largest non-profit membership organization, Arbor Day Foundation, are working together to plant 2.33 million trees* around the world in 2022. There will be two trees planted for every one tree used to construct a Clayton Properties Group house in 2021.
Families across America have been purchasing Clayton homes since 1956. Over 42,000 homes were built by Clayton home building group in 2016. A large growth happened leading to the site-build housing industry and Clayton Properties Group was formed. Harris Doyle homes joined Clayton Properties Group, a division of Clayton Homes, and a Berkshire Hathaway Company, in June 2017. In 2021, Harris Doyle Homes and our sister builders built 60,701 across the United States.
Harris Doyle is enthusiastic about giving back to the communities in which we live and work, and we strive to use our sources to make a change in the lives of those around us. Our dedication to helping others is one of our fundamental beliefs and rooted in our culture. The Harris Doyle team and Clayton Properties Group are involved in multiple organizations including the Arbor Day Foundation.
According to the Arbor Day Foundation, “The partnership will focus on addressing large-scale environmental issues like ecosystem restoration, biodiversity protection, improving water and air quality, and helping to combat the climate crisis.”
Arbor Day Foundation has expanded into the biggest nonprofit membership organization devoted to planting trees since it was founded in 1972. Their members, supporters, and respected partners have worked together to plant around 500 million trees around the globe.
Reforestation efforts by Clayton are part of the commitment to do good in our communities, cities, and country. Our communities thrive because of trees and their ability to deliver the necessities of life. Clayton states our “purpose extends beyond the homes we build to the planet we call home - it includes an effort to create a better future through responsible building practices, impactful philanthropic partnerships, paid team member volunteer opportunities and leaving a legacy of environmental stewardship.”
A new opportunity to respect the relationship we share with the environment and understand the accountability we have to the natural world introduces itself each day. The trees planted this year will help in more ways than one.
