Damiano is currently working as a new home sales agent in one of Springville’s most promising and established new home communities -- MacDonald Farm. We took a minute to sit down with Damiano and learn more about his passion for real estate and what it’s like working in new home construction and at Harris Doyle.

When did you know you wanted to pursue a career in Real Estate?

“Being born and raised in California, one of the most competitive real estate markets in the U.S., I was captivated by the glamour and luxury found throughout the state. Because of this, selling multi-million-dollar homes has always been in my purview. I came to realize that the sales and marketing experience I’d learned over the years would give me a competitive edge in this industry so at that point, I had no choice but to dive in headfirst.”

What makes you excited about your job?

“There are a few things that get me excited about my career in real estate. First and foremost is being able to provide for my family and those who are in need. I also love the process of seeing the vision of someone’s dream home come life. It never gets old watching my clients finally get the keys to their new home. Also, I love that my day is never the same. I often get bored with the routines, so I enjoy that real estate offers up something different and challenging daily. It ensures growth, personally and professionally, is always happening.”

What is the most rewarding part of being a Real Estate Agent in Liberty Park and working with Harris Doyle?

“The most rewarding part of my role is being able to make new friends and connections within the local Birmingham community. Since I didn’t grow up in the Birmingham Area, I don’t have the luxury of a ton of connections so working with a growing company like Harris Doyle has allowed me to create new connections and friendships.”

Do you have any tips for future homeowners? If so, what are they?

“It has been a seller's market since I started my career in real estate. Here are a few things I’ve come to learn: Things aren’t always going to be this great. Yes, there is a shortage of homes and property values are skyrocketing but, the speed at which homes are appreciating isn't normal.

If you’re looking at buying a home in the short term (12-24 months) be prepared to claw tooth and nail to get an offer accepted. I don’t own a crystal ball, but I think most would agree that a downturn in the market is unlikely within the next two years which means that home prices could continue to go up. The longer you wait to buy, the more expensive your home will be.”

Tell us about your favorite Harris Doyle floor plan and why?

“The Carson is my favorite! It has a beautiful exterior and a functional open-floor concept including a master and guest bedroom on main with a home office and a large loft on the second level.”

Tell us about your family.

“I have an amazing wife and two kids. My wife is the Marketing Manager for Harris Doyle. My oldest child is four and she loves to compete in anything and everything, as well as do arts and crafts. My youngest is one and he enjoys playing in the dirt or the sprinklers.”

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

“I enjoy booking last minute vacations with no itinerary except to relax and eat lots of tasty food. While traveling I love finding hole in the wall restaurants that I have never been to before to try.”
