Auburn, also known as “The Loveliest Village on The Plains” is home of Auburn University – one of the largest universities in the South. This quaint town is family oriented and offers a little bit of something for everyone.
Catch a sports game at Hitchcock Field at Plainsman Park or Jordan-Hare Stadium. After an Auburn win, visit Toomer's Corner to participate in the rolling of the oaks to celebrate an Auburn victory.
If you like art, visit the Museum of East Alabama or one of the university's many museums that are open to the public. This includes the Museum of Natural History and Jule Collins Smith Museum of Art
If you are looking for outdoor recreation, you can explore all 696 acres of Chewacla State Park. If you are more adventurous, visit the Coosa Outdoor Center and rent a kayak to take to the Coosa River for the day. For animal lovers, you can horseback ride at H & G Horse Quarters or take your pets to the many pet-friendly parks around town.
Take the kids to Hickory Dickory Park for a unique playing experience. The park is said to look like a miniature version of the city. If conditions aren’t good for outdoor play, visit Surge Trampoline Park to jump the day away. If you are looking for indoor fun, GoodTimes or CyberZone Entertainment is great for bowling, laser tag, and games.
