Harris Doyle Gives Back to Local Nonprofits in Birmingham and Auburn
The holiday season at Harris Doyle Homes came and went, but not without some wonderful opportunities for our teammates to bond together and pour back into the communities in which we live and work.
One of Harris Doyle’s core values is to stay Humble, and we are proud to have a team who truly embodies this and “shows out” when it comes to giving back to our communities. This holiday season, our team was humbled for the opportunity to support three local nonprofits – the Lee County Humane Society, Tallapoosa County Girls Ranch, and the Lovelady Center.
Lee County Humane Society
Harris Doyle’ Auburn New Construction team took time to stock the Lee County Humane Society on various supplies for their pets – including food, toys, beds, blankets and more. We were excited to take care of our furry friends for the holidays.
The mission of the Lee County Human Society is “to advance humane treatment and responsible ownership of companion animals through community education, animal sheltering and adoption, and alleviation of animal suffering.
This amazing organization is a huge asset to the Lee County community, and they are always looking for volunteers. We encourage you to explore how you can help below!
Ways you can help:
Donate – There are several different funds to donate to through the shelter or you can scan their wish list and purchase needed items. Sponsoring an animal’s adoption is another wonderful way to donate.
Foster – Providing a loving home for your foster pet helps save two animals lives: the one in your home and the one in the shelter.
Volunteer – From cleaning, walking, and learning, there is plenty of volunteer work to be had.
Adopt – When looking for a new pet, please keep Lee County Humane Society in your thoughts. Adopt, don’t shop.
Tallapoosa County Girls Ranch
The Tallapoosa County Girls Ranch campus consists of 3 ranch homes, 3 staff houses, an office, chapel, gym, pool, pond, and various support buildings, along with 17 girls. This is a lot to maintain, and Harris Doyle Homes was happy to step up and help. The Auburn Division spent hours shopping at Target collecting every item on the girl’s wish list. They finished the day by placing every gift under the Girls Ranch Christmas tree!
Ranch highlights include annual beach trip, day at the water park, spa day, various camp experiences, Atlanta Braves game, Columbus Cottonmouths hockey game, fashion show, nursing home ministry, church food ministry, and visit to Children’s Hospital, which all need funding. If you feel lead to volunteer or donate, please see a few of your options below.
Ways you can help:
Donate – Please use the Girl’s Ranch Amazon wish list that can be found on their website.
Fundraisers – There are several benefit rides, shopping events, and quarterly luncheons throughout the year to participate in.
Volunteer – There is always work to be done around the ranch. Painters, plumbers, and general contractors are welcomed.
Lovelady Center
The Lovelady Center’s mission is “to help women rebuild their lives and walk forward with faith-driven hope for the future.” The Birmingham Division of Harris Doyle Homes enjoyed spending the day at Target, searching for supplies to donate. Dropping the items off at the Lovelady Center was the cherry on top of a great day.
If the Lovelady Center’s mission aligns with yours, please feel free to donate, shop, or volunteer by following the details below.
Ways to help:
Donate – You can donate any amount on the Lovelady Center’s website and have the option to make the donation reoccurring. You can also donate items to the Lovelady Center Thrift Store where the profits will be given to the center.
Shop – The Lovelady Center Thrift Store is the best place to shop for a cause. There are two locations to chose from, Irondale and Clay. As a bonus, the clients work in the stores and receive firsthand training that prepares them for the future.
Volunteer – If you are interested, please volunteer online. There are many different programs and events to select from so you can find the right spot for you. Easter basket stuffing, makeup drive, and purses with a purpose are a few options.
In the end, we realized that teamwork makes the dream work. If our act of kindness persuaded you to donate, please reach out to one of the charities through the links listed below. All donations and volunteers are highly welcomed and needed.
