One of the reasons we love being a Birmingham Homebuilder is because the city has so much to offer our homeowners. The Birmingham St. Patrick’s Day celebration is underway, and it is one of our favorite ways to celebrate the wearing of the green. An annual event in the heart of Birmingham, the 31st Annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration is presented by REV Birmingham and the Five Points South Mechants Group who sponsor and organize these fun-filled activities each year. The multi-day celebration features a parade, live music, Irish food and drink specials at local restaurants and bars. Miss the parade this past weekend? Lucky for our Birmingham residents, this celebration is a two-part event!

Part-one is the parade, which made its procession through downtown Birmingham this past Saturday, March 14. The streets of Birmingham were packed with residents of all ages waving Irish flags while colorful floats and bnads made their way through town. The parade was led by the Sturrock Memorial Pipe Band playing live bagpipes as they waked down 10th Avenue through Five Points. Live muisc from Hooley & Marc Gunn and Irish dancers entertained guests at select restaurants, venues and bars all day and into the evening on Saturday.

Part-two of the annual Five Points South celebration takes place tommorrow on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17. Residents of Birmingham can go back to the Five Points area anytime from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and find plenty of specials on food and drinks. Patrons can enjoy a midday lunch special or an after work dinner and drink special at resutrants such as  Cosmo’s Pizza, Mellow Mushroom, Black Market Bar & Grill, The J Clyde and much more!
