Iron Bowl 2013Thanksgiving in the south is a time spent with family and friends enjoying delicious home cooked food and of course, watching football. Like most years, Thanksgiving weekend will also divide many households (and even some businesses) as Alabama and Auburn face off in the Iron Bowl.

While last year, we explored the history of this great rivalry, this year we thought it would be fun to explore the inner rivalry in our company: Brooks Harris (Alabama) versus Russ Doyle (Auburn).

Brooks grew up a diehard Alabama fan, dreaming of the day he would one day matriculate to his dream school. When the time came, Brooks enrolled in the university’s prestigious business school, majoring in marketing. However, he spent his college career hitting more than just the books as he also thoroughly enjoyed the Greek life, attending football games and visiting his family at home in Birmingham when he could. Today, he looks back and realizes that the connections and friendships he formed at the University of Alabama have been an invaluable asset to his career.

Brooks’ final score prediction: Alabama 35, Auburn 21

On the other hand, Russ chose to attend his dream school of Auburn to pursue a degree in their building science program, which is considered one of the best in the country. Like Brooks, Russ also split his time between academia and social life, saying that many days he would take off after class to spend the afternoon on the lake.

While our own company presidents may make us to a company divided when it comes to football, together they make a winning team when it comes to building homes in Pike Road and Birmingham.
