When it comes to building your dream home, one of the most important steps in the construction process is design. At Harris Doyle Homes, our goal is to not only build you a quality home, but a home that meets your needs, style and budget. In order to accomplish this goal, we offer a three-step design process that allows you to work with our talented designers to truly create your dream home.
The three steps that we follow in designing your new Alabama home include:
1. Plan Review Meeting – During the Plan Review, our interior designers will meet with you to review the floor plan and make sure your tv, phone and cable outlets are in the right place. Next , they will identify any floor plan tweaks that you may need. Following this first meeting, the designer will review the list, add pricing and send it to the homeowners.
2. Designer 1 – During Designer 1, our interior designers help homeowners start designing the bones of their home by focusing on the exterior finishes of their home such as brick and roofing as well as a few interior items such as flooring, cabinets and countertops. Following thisstep, the designer will go back to the list, update it with new pricing and resend it to the homeowners.
3. Designer 2 – The final step is known as Designer 2 and is what Interior Designer Alice Allen likes to call “the fluff meeting.” This is where homeowners have the opportunity to add a little style to their new home as they pick out their interior finishes such as paint colors, carpeting, lighting and plumbing fixtures.
Generally the Plan Review Meeting takes approximately 1.5 hours, while the last two meetings take approximately four hours each. That is approximately 9.5 hours spent with our interior designers!
In order to successfully design a new home that meets and exceeds the homeowners’ expectations, our interior designers take the time to get to know each and every buyer. “During the design process, I make it a priority to build great relationships with my clients by treating them like family. Not only do I want to build them a great home, but I truly care about them and still have great friendships with many of my clients following the design process. In fact, one of my very first clients offered to babysit my daughter for me during our company Christmas party,” said Alice.
With a passion for interior design from an early age, Alice is able to offer great advice for buyers from all walks of life. While her personal style tends to be more rustic, she enjoys continuing the Harris Doyle legacy of providing sound and honest advice that ensures her clients are receiving the elements that they desire in a new home. “My biggest piece of advice that I give to every homeowner is that whether you know what you like or don’t like, always follow your gut and first instinct,” added Alice.
In order to make sure that the showroom has the options that today’s clients are looking for, Alice and the design team stays up-to-date on the latest trends in interior design.
