In step with the many American families that have been busy preparing for the new school year ahead, NerdWallet recently released its top 100 list of the nation’s most educated cities, with Auburn coming in at No. 67. As education is often among the top priorities for many new homebuyers, this ranking makes the Auburn area even more appealing for settling down.
NerdWallet’s findings were based on the percentage of people within the city who earned a high school degree, a college degree, as well as the number of residents with advanced degrees. More than 94 percent of Auburn residents have a high school degree and 60 percent have a bachelor’s degree. An additional 30 percent have earned a master’s and nearly nine percent have doctorate degrees. In addition to being one of the nation’s most educated cities, Auburn was recently named the No. 5 best small city for education in the US by Movoto.com with an average student-teacher ratio of 14 to 1 and a graduation rate of over 90 percent.
Expected to break ground in the next couple of weeks, Cypress Point will be Harris Doyle Homes’ first community in Auburn and will offer 55 new single-family homes. Fittingly, the youngest residents of Cypress Point will be in district to receive an excellent education at nearby Richland Elementary, Drake Middle, Auburn Junior High, and Auburn High schools.
While children attend great schools close to their new homes, parents will also have the opportunity to be a part of a flourishing job market. Just last month, Gov. Robert Bentley announced that GE aviation will be investing approximately $50 million on a new 3-D printing project at its location in Auburn, creating more than 300 jobs over the next ten years.
High-quality education and a steadily growing job market are just a few of the reasons that Auburn is a great place to live, work and play. For more information about new homes for sale at Cypress Point in Auburn, visit the Harris Doyle Homes website and make sure to FOLLOW the blog!
